Improving Operational Efficiency through Quality 4.0 Tool: Blockchain Implementation and Subsequent Market Reaction

Purpose: This article aims to observe and measure how modern innovative blockchain technology improves the data quality transparency thus affect stock prices of publicly traded companies after announcing its implementation in their operations. Additionally, objective is compare results with control group non-adopters. Methodology/Approach: We selected 30 public across various sectors, obtained daily price data, identified peer companies, employed an event study approach examine statistical impact adoption announcements. Findings: A significant negative reaction (-0.4%) was observed day following a announcement, but overall, market response unsystematic, indicating no consistent post-announcement. Research Limitation/Implication: The assumes that markets are always efficient. methodology has some limitations because we live world not perfect, do necessarily fully reflect all available information. Originality/Value paper: Blockchain current intriguing subject attracted limited scholarly research. Each new contributes valuable insights understanding this impacts corporate Furthermore, research endeavours draw comparisons between have announced non-adopters counterparts.
